Pop Icons
The Palau Martorell presents «Andy Warhol. Pop Icons», a major exhibition devoted to one of the most influential and revolutionary artists of the twentieth century, to mark the 40th anniversary of his death. A fascinating journey through the creative universe of Andy Warhol, the artist who transformed everyday objects and famous faces into true icons of contemporary art.
Through more than 180 works, including paintings, screenprints, drawings, photographs and Polaroids, the exhibition invites visitors to discover the many facets of his creativity. From the legendary Campbell's Soup cans, by way of his iconic record covers, to his celebrated portraits of stars such as Marilyn Monroe, Mick Jagger, Liz Taylor and Michael Jackson, the journey shows how Warhol broke down the boundaries between art, music, fashion and mass culture.
Curated by Edoardo Falcioni and Lola Durán Úcar, the exhibition offers a unique opportunity to step into the world of a visionary artist who forever changed the way we understand art and celebrity.
