In Sorolla's Sea

En el mar de Sorolla con Manuel Vicent brings together 86 masterpieces by the Valencian painter, in one of the largest exhibitions ever devoted to Joaquín Sorolla in Barcelona, produced in collaboration with the Museo Sorolla and the Fundació Museu Sorolla.
The Valencian writer Manuel Vicent, described by critics as "the Sorolla of our literature", curates a literary journey through Sorolla's seascapes: an unusual dialogue between painting and literature, in which the painter's Mediterranean scenes meet the writer's memories, experiences and reflections on the sea, its people and its landscapes.
Visitors will find such iconic works as Bathing Time, Valencia, The Little Sailboat, The Arrival of the Boats, Valencia and Fisherwoman with her Son, Valencia, arranged in four thematic sections: "The Subconscious Is Full of Seaweed", "A Naturalist Drama Under the Mediterranean Light", "Bourgeois Holidaymakers in El Cabanyal" and "In the Sea of Xàbia".
